What do SHACs do?

Student Health Action Councils work on projects to support healthy schools and communities. They also advise Student Health Centers about student health issues.

Some past SHAC projects include:

  • Making de-stress kits for students
  • Making cards for kids in a hospital
  • Supporting youth without housing
  • Organizing events
  • Organizing park clean-ups
  • Talking to state legislators

Join a SHAC

SHACs are safe, welcoming spaces for all students. They usually meet weekly.

To join a SHAC, visit the front desk of a Student Health Center. You must be under 18.
